Value-add marketing case study

Flight Centre: Planting for the Planet

Building brand loyalty and connecting customers to the greater goal of planting one million trees

Background

Flight Centre, a leading travel retailer, wanted to provide convenience and peace of mind to their customers by providing the right products, assurances and travel cover in one Captain’s Pack. As part of each pack, they wanted to plant trees in projects nearby to their global customer base in their Planting for the Planet initiative.

Ultimately, Flight Centre’s vision is to plant one million trees with the help of their customers.

Solution

Reforest also connected Flight Centre with four diverse restoration projects for a range of sustainable causes including, biodiversity restoration (Australia), forest and wildlife conservation (New Zealand), salmon habitat preservation (Canada), and regeneration of native communal food forests (Morocco).

Outcome

Throughout the next year, Flight Centre hopes to provide more value for their customers and increase brand loyalty. While this campaign doesn’t make a trip carbon neutral, it’s a way for the company to share their collaborative and tangible contribution to environmental and social causes with their customers.
