Reforest will match your trees for World Environment Day 2020

Posted on 1 June 2020

It’s World Environment Day on Friday June 5, and the theme this year is biodiversity. There are little more than 54 of the critically threatened Southern Brush-tailed Rock Wallabies left in the wild, so preserving biodiversity does not get more real than this.

The Reforest pilot project at Mt Rose in Victoria is not only planting a variety of native trees to create new forest and sequester carbon, it is also a conservation initiative creating new, protected habitat for this unique species. The first stage of Mt Rose will be planting soon, so this is a limited chance to plant trees with such high biodiversity value as part of your personal forest.

Reforest will match you

For this first project, when you use the Reforest App to reforest your carbon footprint with trees at Mt Rose we will match every tree you plant. In the next version of our app – coming out very soon – you will see the trees you planted as well as those we planted to match you. Your impact will be double, and twice your CO2 emissions will be removed.

Why plant trees with Reforest?

By planting trees you will do more than just remove double your carbon emissions from the atmosphere; you will help preserve this precious example of Australian biodiversity.

Reforest will keep you updated about your trees over time. As they grow, we’ll send you images of the forest they are creating. And when these special wallabies start to call that forest home, we’ll let you know. We don’t want you to take our word for it, we want you to see your impact. Because it’s your impact.

And as the Reforest App continues to evolve and starts to reward you for your impact, you will be first in line as one of the founding members of our community.
